March 7, 2025 - The Cadillac family in Australia and New Zealand is set to grow from two to four, with the all-new OPTIQ and VISTIQ confirmed for launch.

The factory-built right-hand-drive models will join the LYRIQ and LYRIQ-V in Cadillac’s growing model range in Australia and New Zealand, with the two new models set to launch in 2026.

Announced in Tokyo, Japan, today, the confirmation of factory right-hand-drive production for the OPTIQ and VISTIQ highlights Cadillac’s commitment to global right-hand-drive markets.

“We made a commitment that Cadillac’s incredible all-electric product portfolio would be a truly global offering, and that story begins in Australia and New Zealand with the right-hand-drive LYRIQ and LYRIQ-V,” says John Roth, Vice President, Global Cadillac.

We made a commitment that Cadillac’s incredible all-electric product portfolio would be a truly global offering, and that story begins in Australia and New Zealand with the right-hand-drive LYRIQ and LYRIQ-V, says John Roth, Vice President, Global Cadillac.

But like with any great story, there is more than one chapter. And I’m thrilled to confirm the addition of the OPTIQ and VISTIQ, both of which have been planned and engineered to be built in right-hand drive from their inception, and which will build on Cadillac’s electric momentum in the ANZ region.

The VISTIQ — a stunning three-row SUV — unlocks luxurious electric motoring for larger families, while the OPTIQ will act as an exciting new entry point to the Cadillac range, sitting beneath the LYRIQ in terms of size.

“These new and exciting models will double Cadillac’s line-up in Australia and New Zealand, appealing to an even broader range of customers and usage requirements, and allowing even more people to experience this incredible brand for themselves, said Jess Bala, Managing Director, General Motors Australia and New Zealand.

“But product is only a part of the Cadillac brand promise, with each of the four models underpinned by our commitment to our customers, which begins in our flagship Customer Experience Centres and continues throughout the entire ownership experience.”

The Cadillac OPTIQ

The new entry point to the Cadillac electric range, the OPTIQ remains true to the luxury features and effortless power that have become hallmarks of the storied brand’s EV evolution.

At 4820mm in length, 2126mm in width and 1644mm in height, the OPTIQ is intended to sit below the LYRIQ large SUV (4996mm, 2207mm and 1623mm) in Cadillac’s ANZ lineup.

But while it’s the smallest electric Cadillac vehicle to date, the OPTIQ is no less impressive than its larger siblings, featuring a dual-motor AWD powertrain as standard, producing an exhilarating 224kW and 480Nm.

Designed to blend convenient practicality with potent performance, OPTIQ’s  electric platform will deliver both a spirited and enthralling drive experience, and exceptional cargo capacity and rear-row passenger room.

“With near-instantaneous torque, OPTIQ delivers a unique and spirited driving experience. The unique electric architecture allows us to fit enough muscle into a smaller package to provide thrilling performance, delivering a sensation of isolated precision,” says John Cockburn, chief engineer.

The Cadillac VISTIQ

The VISTIQ redefines luxury, three-row electric motoring, delivering on Cadillac’s brand pillars of performance, craftsmanship, and technology.

Measuring 5222mm in length, 2203mm in width and 1804mm in height, the VISTIQ ensures the luxury of space for all passengers, while maintaining the brand’s commitment to a spirited drive.

The VISTIQ’s standard dual motor all-wheel drive system delivers a powerful and engaging driving experience, while standard chassis damping control and available Air Ride Adaptive suspension, combined with GM’s purpose-built electric drivetrain, contribute to VISTIQ’s smooth ride and handling.

“From the start, it was our team’s goal to deliver a three-row SUV that provides exhilarating performance and intuitive technology, wrapped in the brand’s iconic design language,” said Jeff MacDonald, chief engineer. “Bold, yet refined, the VISTIQ provides a comfortable ride while handling like a much smaller vehicle, delivering a sense of isolated precision.”

More details on the Cadillac OPTIQ and VISTIQ for Australia and New Zealand will be revealed closer to launch.
